Taiwan’s unique system of Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM) practice makes it an ideal place for students to further their education. CHM is systematized and integrated directly into hospitals and primary care facilities in Taiwan. The country also has a rigorous tradition of meticulous supply chain management and herbal processing, ensuring consistent, high-quality medicines. Taiwan is actively engaged in high-quality, ongoing research in CHM from various perspectives—pharmacological, clinical, sociological, and historical.

China Medical Hospital Taiwan has an excellent international reputation as a center for integrative medicine, where CHM is used to treat a wide range of medical conditions. Thousands of patients are treated each year, with treatment results recorded in Taiwan’s national database—a valuable resource for herbal research and development.

  • Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM) offers a unique and holistic approach to healthcare, using natural compounds based on centuries-old principles to treat and prevent illness. A career in CHM allows you to practice an ancient, respected tradition that not only addresses symptoms but also restores balance and well-being.

CHM's effectiveness is backed by both historical and modern evidence. Many of the herbal formulas in use today have been effective for over 1,000 years. Recently, the World Health Organization recognized Chinese medicine in its International Classification of Diseases (ICD) and found encouraging evidence for CHM’s role in improving outcomes for mild-to-moderate COVID-19 cases.

Choosing a career in CHM means becoming part of a field with deep roots, proven results, and growing global recognition.
